Calif. Chassis Engineering the nation’s oldest and most experienced Dragster Chassis builder is proud to announce the release of the most complete Front Engine Dragster chassis kit available today.
Since 1981 we have been working with the same designs that made us the leader at the end of the front engine era. Many of these ideas have been proven on the track with our own "Shop Hot Rod" under current conditions. Some of the improvements include a wider engine bay, wider shoulder hoop, a deeper laid-back roll cage and additional bracing in the driver’s area. The entire package is well thought out to give you easy maintenance and durability.
Each piece of the chassis kit is expertly cut notched and fit on our factory fixtures and can be shipped to you in several stages of completion from the basic un-assembled tubing kit or the rigidly tack welded "back half" to the completely assembled and finished welded chassis.
As in our entire award winning designs, they are constructed from aircraft quality 4130 Chrome-Molly tubing. Each is built to meet or exceed the current SFI chassis specifications. Our proven method of tack welding the assemblies at the points where each weld starts and stops allows them to be finish welded free of the fixtures with a minimum of distortion and a cleaner finish because you don’t have to weld over the tack welds to blend them in.
Each un-assembled kit and partially assembled kit that comes to you as lose tubing has also been carefully pre-fit and labeled so you can easily identify its location and final assemble it with the construction blue print that is included. The complete construction blue print is available separately, for those who would like to look over the design before hand, and you will receive full credit for the print when your kit is ordered.

STAGE 1
Our stage 1 package offers you
all of the winning performance designs of our latest Front Engine Dragster
chassis in a pre-cut, fitted, un-assembled tubing kit. Each piece is expertly
cut, fit on our fixtures and labeled. A construction Blueprint and tubing
code is included.
Note-This kit is for the advanced builder who hasn’t done one of these in a while with a 20ft fixture.
STAGE 2
Is the same kit as above but comes
to you as a sub-assembly from the rear motor plate to the roll cage. The
engine and complete rear end housing are mounted and the whole assembly
is rigidly tack welded together with the pre-fit front half shipped to
you un-assembled. Finishing instructions and tubing code, to help you identify
each piece are included. This takes the hard part out of building one of
these racecars. The sub assembly can also be finish welded for an additional
cost.
Note- Stage-2 is recommended for those who have a decent workshop with a Heli-arc TIG welder, or the chassis shop who doesn’t care to fixture the whole thing.
STAGE 3
The most complete kit, with the
chassis fully assembled and expertly finish welded and heat-treated. Your
choice of a complete 8 ¾" Chrysler or 9" Ford rear end housing,
narrowed with olds ends, a filler and drain and tubular rear brace.
¼" 6061 t-6 aluminum motor
plates, complete steering. with billet steering box, spindles and all the
linkage.
